Haitian Temporary Protected Status Re-Registration Deadline
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced that eligible nationals of Haiti who currently have Temporary Protected Status (TPS) must re-register for TPS by May 2, 2014. Failure to re-register by this deadline may result in the loss of your TPS and your work authorization.
Your employee will receive a new Employment Authorization Document (EAD) with a January 22, 2014 expiration date if they re-register during the registration period. USCIS recognizes that some re-registrants may not receive their new EADs until after their current EADs have expired, therefore, USCIS is automatically extending current TPS Haiti EADs with a July 22, 2014 expiration date for an additional six months. These current EADs are now valid through January 22, 2015.
